Hazelle “Pulls” out a win,Wharton’s McKinney takes boys title
Dover,Fl-It was a small race in numbers but had some of Hillsborough counties top runners The 2025 Central Hillsborough Invite, hosted by Strawberry Crest saw Taegen McKinney of Wharton take the win. Mason LaBlance of King finished 16 seconds back in 16:28 to Taegen’s winning time of 16:12. Robert MacDonald of Crest overcame losing a shoe halfway through the race and “hopped” to a third place finish clocking 17:02.Joseph Landry of Armwood and 800m specialist Jaxon Kiper of Strawberry Crest rounded out the top 5 on the boys side. The boys team title went to the Wildcats of Wharton , with their 8 point victory,34-42, over Coach Dave Burris’ Strawberry Crest squad. Anthony Kinlock of Wharton outdistanced the field in the boys JV race with a time of 19:45
Girls Race
On the girl’s side, Hillsborough Terrier Hazelle Pulizzano powered away from the field with a 36 second victory over runner up Sophia Douglas of Freedom. Douglas led five Patriots to take 5 out of the first 8 places and the team title over Hillsborough, 24-43. The girls JV winner was freshman Jordyn Kiper of host team Strawberry Crest, winning her first HS race in 28:26

TRC moves west next week to the Western Hillsborough Invite, hosted by Alonso and Coach Roger Mills’ Ravens.
